Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee (Born In 1962) – Heptathlon World Record Holder

Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee is still respected for her achievements as a track and field star. She particularly excelled at the long jump and heptathlon with three gold, two bronze, and a silver Olympic medal backing her prowess. Even after retiring in 1998, she still participated in the Goodwill Games and tried out for the 2000 Olympic trials.

Joyner-Kersee also tried her luck at basketball but didn’t achieve the same level of success. After 17 games playing for the Richmond Rage, she gave it up. She now serves on the USA Track & Field board and dabbles in acting with an appearance on “The Jersey.” She tied the knot with Bob Kersee, her track coach, in 1986.
